Telehealth Policy

Abide in the Vine Counseling, PLLC

1. Overview

Telehealth services at Abide in the Vine Counseling, PLLC are offered as an alternative or supplement to in-person therapy to increase access to care and provide flexibility to clients.

2. Eligibility and Scope

Clients must reside in the state(s) where the therapist is licensed to provide telehealth services. Clients must also have access to a private, stable internet connection and a secure, quiet location during sessions.

3. Confidentiality & Security

We use HIPAA-compliant, secure video platforms for all telehealth services. Clients are expected to protect their own privacy by choosing a confidential space and avoiding public or shared devices.

4. Consent to Telehealth

Clients will be required to sign an Informed Consent for Telehealth prior to receiving services. This includes acknowledgment of risks such as technical interruptions, privacy limitations, and emergency limitations.

5. Emergencies

Telehealth is not suitable for crisis or emergency situations. In emergencies, clients should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. A local emergency contact must be provided upon intake.

6. Fees and Insurance

Telehealth session fees are equivalent to in-person sessions. Clients are responsible for verifying whether their insurance plan covers telehealth services.

7. Cancellations and Rescheduling

Standard cancellation and rescheduling policies apply. Technical issues resulting from the client’s side may be considered missed appointments unless otherwise discussed.

8. Technology Requirements

Clients must use an up-to-date device (smartphone, tablet, or computer) with audio, video, and internet access. Sessions will not be conducted over unencrypted platforms or text.
